Neil Hogan, author of Connecticut's Irish in the Civil War and co-author of From a Land Beyond the Wave: Connecticut’s Irish Rebels, 1798-1916 will give a lecture on his research regarding the Connecticut Irish during the Civil War era and their contributions to history. This presentation focuses on stories about America in the 1850s and 1860s leading up to the Civil War and how Irish people in Connecticut reacted and participated in the war effort.
A small reception will be held before the event at 4 p.m.
