New Student Orientation - Session Four

Welcome Class of 2021!

The New Student Orientation program is designed to help a student transition into the Quinnipiac community. It is an overnight experience during which incoming students spend one night in our residence halls. For fall admission, we hold four sessions in June and one in August, and for spring admission we host one in January.

Throughout the session, new students interact in small groups with their classmates and begin forming new friendships. Upper-class students, known as Orientation Leaders (OLs), guide these groups.

At Orientation, students meet with faculty and staff members who explain Quinnipiac's academic requirements, course options and the class registration process. Students leave Orientation with a schedule for their first semester at Quinnipiac.

During the session, students will also learn about a variety of campus resources — everything from the student code of conduct to co-curricular involvement opportunities, health services, learning resources and the University's expectations regarding diversity and inclusion.

In addition to New Student Orientation, we host Welcome Weekend during the first weekend of the fall semester before classes being. Students are engaged in discussions about the first-year reading assignment, the Personal Success Plan, the drug and alcohol environment both on and off campus, multiculturalism, sexual violence awareness/prevention, bystander intervention, and healthy relationship practices.
